Rapid Prototyping

Since 2000, Hycast has utilised advanced rapid prototyping technologies to support the development of precision metal cast components.

By combining computer modelling with automated wax printing, we can produce highly accurate patterns directly from CAD data. This approach eliminates the need for production tooling in the early stages of development, significantly reducing lead times and enabling faster design evaluation.

Confirmation before full production

Rapid prototyping allows a “near-production” casting to be manufactured so clients can confirm the component’s shape, form and surface finish before committing to full production tooling.

This capability is particularly valuable for one-off prototypes, research and development programs, and small production runs. The resulting cast components achieve the same mechanical properties expected from parts produced using conventional production tooling.

With in-house rapid prototyping capability and no minimum order quantity, Hycast helps customers validate designs, refine components and accelerate time to market.

Materials

Expertise Across a Wide Range of Alloys

Our components are used in diverse and often demanding environments. To meet these requirements, we offer expertise across a broad range of materials.

Materials include carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels, nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, cast iron, brass, bronze and aluminium, along with other specialised alloys where required.

Our NATA-accredited metals analysis laboratory enables us to conduct alloy verification and chemistry control in-house. This capability allows us to precisely manage alloy composition during melting, ensuring every melt meets customer specifications.

By controlling alloy chemistry internally, we ensure accuracy, compliance and consistency, while also enabling faster response times and the flexibility to deliver tailored material solutions.
