These services are delivered through a combination of in-house capability and qualified specialist partners, managed under our quality system.

Working with a robust and trusted supply chain, Hycast coordinates specialist processes — including heat treatment, testing, machining and finishing — to ensure all customer specifications are met with consistency and reliability.

Services include:

  • Heat Treatment – Processes such as stress relieving, annealing, solution treatment or age hardening to optimise mechanical properties and material performance.
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) – Including Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI), Radiographic (X-Ray) Testing, Ultrasonic Testing and Magnetic Particle Inspection to verify component integrity.
  • Precision Machining – CNC machining, drilling and tapping for tight-tolerance features, threads, bores or surfaces not suitable for direct casting.
  • Surface Treatments & Coatings – Including polishing, anodising, passivation, painting or metal plating (e.g. zinc, chrome or nickel) to enhance corrosion resistance, durability or appearance.
  • Final Inspection & quality assurance – Dimensional verification using calibrated inspection tools and measurement systems.
  • Material Certification & Traceability – Including Certificates of Compliance, heat lot traceability and compliance documentation to meet customer and industry requirements.

Our components are used in diverse and often demanding environments. To meet these requirements, we offer expertise across a broad range of materials.

Materials include carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels, nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, cast iron, brass, bronze and aluminium, along with other specialised alloys where required.

Our NATA-accredited metals analysis laboratory enables us to conduct alloy verification and chemistry control in-house. This capability allows us to precisely manage alloy composition during melting, ensuring every melt meets customer specifications.

By controlling alloy chemistry internally, we ensure accuracy, compliance and consistency, while also enabling faster response times and the flexibility to deliver tailored material solutions.
